NOT
EVERYONE WILL PASS. BUT EVERYONE WILL BE EXPOSED.
This is the message behind the new independent television series SEX ED: THE
SERIES.
A
cross between The Breakfast Club and Sex & the City
SEX ED: THE SERIES is a new "dramedy" that follows the lives of
eight very different college students enrolled in an unusual sex education course.
What they thought would be an easy A turns out to be a journey of intimacy and
self-discovery due to the avant-garde teachings of Professor Alison Trevase (Joanna
Cassidy, Emmy award nominee for Six Feet Under). Their first
assignment
pair up and make clay sculptures of each others genitals.
Through this unconventional assignment, the students pasts and secrets begin
to surface -- proving that Sex Ed is more than just about sex.
Tamela
DAmico (On The Lot) produced and directed from Ernie Vecchiones
original teleplay. The pilot was shot
in 11 days in Los Angeles using donated Panavision HD cameras (the same cameras George
Lucas used to shoot Star Wars: Attack of the Clones). Series
regulars include Matt Barr (One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl), Angela
Sarafyan (The Mentalist) and Andrea Lui (Pushing Daisies). Other series stars include Laura Clery (Til
Death), Annie Abrams (Cold Case), Andra Fuller (Prison
Break), George Finn, Caroline Aaron, Stevie Ryan & Casey Graf.
